Do you wanna read something funny about being Southern? Usually, it’s funny if you’re on the wrong side of being racist & white. Yeah, so after the shock of ugly wears off, I have to laugh at racists.

Or do you wanna know how to cook something Southern and spicey, I have that too. I was born, raised and lived all of my life within 45 minutes from SW Louisiana and still do. Lots of their folks, black, white, mixed, French and Creole cain’t make a decent living in Louisiana and have to cross the Sabine River into Texas to live, work and raise their families. Love’em, love their food, and God knows I love me a Cajun man’s accent!

Texas is well versed in immigrants (Louisiana is another country, they have their own language & wonderful food culture) Border control is a hot topic these days. One day, much later I might present my opinion. Maybe, lol.

This is my story, some of it is true, some of it might be true and some of it, I made up. My story will teach you how to catch catfish on trotlines, how to make gumbo and how to deal with a bitchy mother. Post once a week on Tuesdays at 8:01 a.m. Thinking about changing that to Friday morning. We shall see.

Of course, that depends on my elderly mother and her trips to the hospital. Regardless, now that I’ve given you the day, I’ll try hard to make it happen. Thank you so much for reading my lil’ diddy, story. Subscribe to get full access to the newsletter and website. Never miss an update.

Everyone has a past, some worse than others. I have a past I can be proud of. One that’s normal. One I would change if I could. The one that’s taught me the most, seems to have been the hardest one. And it was one of the best times of my life.
